Minimal Mid-Century Modern Outdoor Wedding

Inspired by mid-century design elements, form follows function in this mix of organic and non-traditional materials.

Jessica and Don got engaged during their travels to Hawaii to celebrate 10 years together. When they reached the peak of a mountain on one of their hikes, Jessica asked Don for a banana from her backpack. When she turned around, Don presented her with a ring.

A nod to their engagement story and time in Hawaii, banana yellow was included in the colour palette and guests took home banana candy boxes. The terracotta brown in the colour palette was inspired by Don's toque, and many other items in his timeless wardrobe. In all the design discussions going forward, the brown was referred to as "Donny Brown." A dusty blue, beachy grey and subtle pink completed the palette, along with neon orange for an unexpected burst of colour.
