FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN EVENT PLANNING AND DESIGN?
I completed University for my Marketing and Entrepreneurship degrees, knowing I wanted to run a business, but not yet knowing what type. I decided to pursue a career in the corporate world with hopes it would come to me one day. I have always been very detail oriented, creative, and focused on making everything look pretty. Eventually I noticed I gravitated towards planning events, and voila, this is what I needed to be doing.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?
I am certified in planning and design as a Certified Wedding Planner through the Wedding Planner Institute of Canada and an international Certified Event Designer through the Wedding and Event Institute. My Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from the University of Manitoba took me through some account management positions at a marketing firm for a few years, giving me lots of experience in demanding, fast-paced project management and working with a variety of personalities with high expectations. With Feast & Festivities, I've since been involved in planning and designing weddings, corporate events, and intimate gatherings.
DO YOU DO EVENT PLANNING FULL TIME?
Yes! Feast & Festivities is my full-time job.
HOW MANY EVENTS DO YOU BOOK?
In order to allow me to pour my heart and soul into every event, I currently restrict bookings to a maximum of one event per weekend and take on a very limited number of events per year.
HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICES?
Just as every event we work on is unique, we provide custom, flat rate quotes for our services. Factors we consider include: service type, event purpose, location(s), guest count, activities, general logistics, number of vendors involved, and how much set-up and take down is expected.
For weddings, our services start at $1,000 for coordination and go up from there for full-service planning and design. Dinner parties and other special occasions usually range between $200 to $2,000.
WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?
We work with a variety of preferred suppliers and creatives to offer clients the opportunity to select vendors that fit their own style and budget.
HOW DID FEAST & FESTIVITIES GET ITS NAME?
I was inspired by age-old feasts around an oversized table with good company because food brings us together. I also wanted a name that would communicate our involvement in planning and designing a variety of celebrations, or festivities if you will, from dinner parties to weddings.
